Weatherly Area School Board Promotes New Assistant Business Manager and Addresses Personnel Matters and Facility Maintenance

During a special meeting held on April 18, the Weatherly Area School Board made a significant decision to promote Kristen Ritter from her part-time role as a cafeteria aide to a full-time assistant business manager. Ritter, who had previously worked in banking for 12 years and returned to work last August after taking time off to raise her children, will now be assisting the outgoing business manager, Leann Sites, whose final day with the board will be on May 21.

During the meeting, the board also addressed several other personnel matters. Lori Giannakouros was hired as a substitute cafeteria aide pending all clearances, Courtney Marscicano will join as a part-time paraprofessional, and Dianne Paisley was added as a substitute teacher. The board is currently in the process of interviewing for a new business manager.

A notable announcement was made during the meeting that Jeanine Snyder, who has been the manager of food services for the Nutrition Group at Weatherly Area for seven years, will be leaving her position on May 1 for a new job opportunity. Snyder expressed that it was an incredibly difficult decision to make but felt that it was time to move on and explore new opportunities. The Nutrition Group has already begun searching for Snyder’s replacement.

The softball field will receive additional dirt, and estimates for drainage work were shared during the meeting. The Athletics committee chairman provided feedback from winter coaches’ exit interviews and thanked them for their hard work throughout the season.

Future meetings of the Weatherly Area School Board are scheduled for Wednesdays, May 1 and 8, at 6 p.m., in the Middle School LGI room.
