Regional Science Olympiad hosted by VCSU on March 28th

VCSU Hosts Successful Regional Science Olympiad, Advancing 10 Teams to State Competition”.

On Thursday, March 28, the Valley City Regional Science Olympiad was hosted by Valley City State University. A total of 350 students from 23 teams representing 13 schools participated in the event.

The competition took place across multiple locations on the VCSU campus and included various events such as Robot Tour, Optics, Experimental Design, Can’t Judge a Powder and more. Dr. Teather Sundstrom, a VCSU professor of chemistry and the Regional Director for Science Olympiad, expressed his pride in seeing local students compete in STEM activities. He highlighted the contributions of VCSU faculty, staff, and local engineers in making the event possible.

Following the competition, the top 5 teams from both Division B (middle school) and Division C (high school) will advance to the state competition at NDSU on April 20. Teams like Ben Franklin, Central Cass, Kulm, Northern Cass, and Dakota Prairie from Division B and Fargo Davies, Red River, Central Cass, Northern Cass
