Town Hall Meeting at the University of Texas at Laredo on the PACT Act Hosted by VA Texas Valley Health Care

VA Health Care Enrollment Event and PACT Act Town Hall Set for May 22 at The University of Texas at Laredo

The University of Texas at Laredo will host an event on Wednesday, May 22 at 6:00 p.m. to provide information about phase two of the PACT Act and VA health care enrollment and benefits for Veterans, their families, and survivors. The address for the event is 1937 Bustamante Street, Laredo, Texas 78041.

The event comes after a recent announcement from VA that all Veterans who were exposed to toxins or hazards during their military service are now eligible to enroll directly in VA health care as of March 5, 2024. This means that Veterans from various conflicts and deployments, including the Vietnam War, Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Global War on Terror, can enroll in VA health care without first applying for benefits. Even Veterans who were exposed to toxins or hazards during training or active duty in the United States are eligible to enroll.

The VA health care enrollment event and PACT Act Town Hall will take place on Wednesday, May 22 at The University of Texas at Laredo. Media representatives can request interviews with local leadership by contacting Hugo Martinez at [Hugo.Martinez@va.gov](mailto:Hugo.Martinez@va.gov).
