Utah State Aggies vs. USC Trojans: Title IX Review Leads to Changes in Football Game

The USC Trojans will face the Utah State Aggies on September 7, during the second week of the season. However, there have been some changes to the game as Utah State’s head coach Blake Anderson has been terminated by his employer. The reason for this termination was a thorough external review of alleged noncompliance with university policies related to Title IX.

These policies require that all employees report disclosures of sexual misconduct, including domestic violence, in a timely manner. It also prohibits employees from conducting their own investigations into such disclosures. As a result of this review, Associate Vice President & Deputy Athletic Director of External Affairs Jerry Bovee and Utah State Football Director of Player Development & Community Austin Albrecht were also dismissed for violations of university policies.

The decision to terminate Coach Anderson’s contract came after an investigation into allegations against him was conducted by an independent third party. While the university is unable to release any additional information due to public records laws and USU policies, it is important to note that this decision was made based on evidence gathered during the investigation.

The Utah State game falls between two major matchups for USC: against LSU in Las Vegas in Week 1 and against Michigan in Ann Arbor in Week 3.
