USA Women Advance to World Championships Semifinals with 10-9 Victory Against Australia

USA Women’s National Team Secures Semifinal Spot at 2024 World Aquatics World Championships with Bold Victory over Australia

The Women’s National Team has advanced to the semifinal round of the 2024 World Aquatics World Championships. Maddie Musselman scored three goals for Team USA, while Jenna Flynn and Maggie Steffens each added two in the win. Ashleigh Johnson had a total of 11 saves for Team USA.

In the first quarter, Flynn and Steffens were the sole scores for the United States, making it 2-1. Later on, Musselman went back to back to make it 5-3 at the half. Heading into the third quarter, Johnson tallied a collective 8 saves for Team USA. In the final eight seconds of play, Johnson was able to hold off any additional Australian goals and took the win with a score of 8-3.

After goals on each side, Jewel Roemer added a 10th goal to the USA scoreboard. Australia would rally though as they got five unanswered goals in the final quarter of play. However, in the end, Team USA took home a hard-fought victory with a score of 10-9 and advancing to the semifinal round.
