Nic Fink Leads the 50 Breaststroke Event

Unpredictable and Exciting: Third Day of Prelims at World Championships

The third day of prelims at the World Championships has been an unpredictable and unique event so far, with Nicolo Martinenghi leading the first seeded heat of the 50m breaststroke. In this heat, Nic Fink and Adam Peaty were also present, with Fink having a fantastic start and taking the lead early on.

Fink finished first in 26.66, followed by Caspar Corbeau in 27.11 and Peaty in 27.23. However, Peaty’s time was slower than his first 50m in the 100m final, which added to the excitement of the event. Ilya Shymanovich matched Fink’s time in the final prelim, while Sam Williamson, Martinenghi, and Peter Stevens were also qualifiers for the next round.

Peaty qualified for the semis in 12th place, making it clear that he was determined to make a comeback after his poor performance in his first heat. With only a few days left before the finals, it is clear that anything can happen at this unpredictable World Championships.
