Unleashing the Power of Digital Health: The Launch of the Global Initiative on Digital Health

The Global Initiative on Digital Health (GIDH) is a WHO Managed Network that aims to support the implementation of the Global Strategy on Digital Health 2020-2025. The initiative will be launched virtually on February 20, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM CET, with live-streaming available on their website. To attend the event, registration is required.

During the launch, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, and leaders from other UN agencies, development partners, and government partners involved in digital health transformation will deliver remarks.

The GIDH is focused on enhancing and coordinating resources for country-led digital health transformation through collaboration and knowledge exchange. Its specific objectives include assessing and prioritizing country needs for sustainable digital health transformation, aligning resources and unfunded priorities at the country level, supporting strategic objectives of the Global Strategy, building capacity for local development and maintenance of digital health technologies according to changing needs. Membership to GIDH is open to all institutions engaged in digital health.
