UC San Diego Ranked as the 7th Best Public University in the US by the Center for World University Rankings

UC San Diego’s Consistent Rankings in CWUR Affirm Its Status as a Top Public University Globally

The University of California San Diego has once again been recognized as a top public university in the United States, according to the latest Center for World University Rankings (CWUR). UC San Diego maintained its ranking as the No. 7 public university in the country, holding onto its spot from the previous year.

In addition to its consistent rankings within the country, UC San Diego also made it onto the 2024 Global 2000 List by CWUR. The university was positioned at No. 21 among all U.S. universities and No. 34 in the world, placing it in the top 0.2% of over 20,000 universities worldwide that were analyzed for these rankings.

CWUR evaluates universities based on four main factors: quality of education, employability, faculty, and research. UC San Diego excelled in faculty rank (12) and research rank (22), demonstrating its commitment to academic excellence and impactful research. These rankings are determined by factors such as the number of distinguished faculty members and research papers published in reputable journals.

Overall, UC San Diego’s consistent high rankings in CWUR reaffirm its status as a leading institution both nationally and globally.
