UB Now: Expert Panel Discusses the Future of Health Care with Faculty and Staff

UB is hosting a panel discussion on November 29th, featuring local and national experts who will examine the future of health care. The event will delve into topics covered in the recent “Future of Health” report released by the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at UB and the Jacobs Institute. The panel, happening from 3-5 p.m. in the M&T Auditorium, will also have a networking reception from 5-6:30 p.m. For those who prefer virtual attendance, a remote option is available and can be registered for online.

The panel discussion will focus on key themes such as “Self-Health Rising,” “Navigating the Intersection: Politics, Climate Change and Public Health,” and “Health Equity and the Path Forward.” The panel will be moderated by Allison Brashear, vice president for health sciences and dean of the Jacobs School and Adnan Siddiqui, CEO and CMO of the Jacobs Institute.

A variety of distinguished panelists will be participating in the discussion, including Ethan Watters and David E. Duncan from the Future of Health Report, Diana Aga, Nancy Nielsen, Rev. George Nicholas, and Kelly Wofford.

Despite identifying systemic challenges in the health care field, the report also highlights advancements and opportunities that are poised to revolutionize health care. This new report is a follow-up to the 2017 “The Future of Medicine” report, which accurately forecasted disruptive changes in health care due to emerging technologies and social movements.
