Top US Metros Attract Domestic Migrants: Wildwood-The Villages in Florida Lead the Way with Highest Net Migration Rate

Florida metros attract a large number of domestic migrants, with cities like Wildwood-The Villages experiencing significant net migration rates. In fact, the Dallas metro area had the highest total positive net domestic migration among all US metros during the period July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023. Business Insider analyzed data from the Census Bureau to identify the top US metros with positive net domestic migration and found that Wildwood-The Villages in Florida had the highest rate per 1,000 people at around 60. Other popular destinations included Houston-Pasadena-The Woodlands in Texas and Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater in Florida, which had rates of around 48 and 39 respectively. Adjusting for population sizes, Myrtle Beach-Conway-North Myrtle Beach in South Carolina stood out with a rate of around 39 and a net migration value of 15,061. These cities offer unique advantages for those seeking new opportunities and experiences.
