Thumb Injury Casts Doubt on Mecole Hardman’s Return to Play

The game of Monday Night Football saw Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman suffer a thumb injury during the first half. The extent of his return to the game is uncertain as he is currently listed as questionable. Despite only spending a limited amount of time on the field, Hardman managed to make one catch for 5 yards. With his potential absence, the Chiefs have other players such as Rashee Rice, Kadarius Toney, Justin Watson, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling available to fill in at the position.

At the time of Hardman’s injury, the game was tied at 7-7 with both quarterbacks having thrown interceptions. L’Jarius Sneed intercepted a throw from Jalen Hurts intended for A.J. Brown, who had changed his route and was open for a potential touchdown. However, Hurts’ pass fell short. Following this interception, the Chiefs advanced to the Philadephia 14-yard line where Kevin Byard intercepted a pass from Patrick Mahomes intended for Justin Watson, who had scored the team’s only touchdown up until that point.
