Theft of $50,000+ 22-foot trailer: Broward County Crime Stoppers offers reward for information leading to arrest

A 22-foot trailer was stolen from a man in Fort Lauderdale, according to police reports. The theft occurred on Saturday morning in a fenced-in yard next to the man’s business on the 900 block of Northwest 51st Place. The owner, Mike Terango, said that the stolen trailer contained two four-wheelers and tools, with an estimated value of $50,000 to $75,000.

Surveillance cameras recorded a man pulling up in a truck and driving off with the trailer after opening the gate. He took only about 10 minutes to commit the theft, closing the gate behind him as he left. Terango suspects that the thief may have been targeting the trailer specifically, although the four-wheelers happened to be inside at the time.

Terango is offering a $10,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator. He is more interested in apprehending the thief to prevent similar incidents from happening to others, rather than recovering the stolen equipment. Anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the suspect is urged to contact Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Tips can be provided anonymously and may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
