The Big House: Michigan Stadium Surprisingly Falls Short in Ranking of Top Big Ten Stadiums

For decades, college football fans have been engaged in a heated debate about the best stadium in the sport, with many arguing that The Big House in Ann Arbor is the most impressive venue. However, others believe that it doesn’t quite live up to expectations. In recent rankings by CBS Sports, The Big House was placed at No. 3 on the list of the top Big Ten stadiums.

When Tom Fornelli first saw Michigan Stadium from outside, he couldn’t help but feel underwhelmed by its size. Despite being known as “The Big House,” it seemed small and unimpressive. But upon entering, he was stunned by the sheer scale of the stadium. With over 107,000 fans filling the stands on game days, opponents were completely surrounded and the closest seats were practically on the sidelines with players.

Despite its impressive size and fan base, The Big House still lags behind other iconic venues like Penn State’s Beaver Stadium and Washington’s Husky Stadium, which offers a stunning waterfront view. However, it remains ahead of other top stadiums such as Oregon and Ohio State, making it a formidable force in college football. Overall, this ranking reaffirms The Big House’s reputation as one of the premier college football venues in the country.
