Exclusive Look Inside the World Premiere of Immaculate at SXSW

SXSW Film & TV Festival Puts the Spotlight on ‘Immaculate’, Director Michael Mohan’s Latest Creation

Immaculate, directed by Michael Mohan, premiered at the 2024 SXSW Film & TV Festival. The cast and creators of the film participated in an interview with SXSW Studio host JuJu Green before the late-night World Premiere.

During the interview, Mohan discussed his working relationship with cinematographer Elisha Christian and how he set the actors in locations inspired by classic 70’s Italian horror films. He expressed his gratitude for returning to SXSW, stating that his career was launched after winning the jury prize in 2015 for his short film Pink Grapefruit.

Connections made on past projects, such as Everything Sucks! and Euphoria, brought old friends and cast-mates to the set of Immaculate. Writer Andrew Lobel praised Sydney Sweeney for her fearless performance, as she pushed boundaries and delivered a shocking portrayal in the film.

The World Premiere of Immaculate took place at 10pm on March 12, attracting attendees for one last screening before the festival ended. Red Carpet interviews created anticipation before entering the historic Paramount Theatre.
