Summer Heats Up: The 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club Marks Start of PGA Tour’s Summer Stretch, With Young, Bhatia, Davis, and Rai Leading the Way
The 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic has come to an end at Detroit Golf Club, marking the start of the PGA Tour’s summer stretch. This tournament is the sixth time that players have taken on the Donald Ross design as they look to prepare for the FedEx Cup Playoffs, which are just six tournaments away.
Leading after 54 holes are Akshay Bhatia, Cameron Young, Cam Davis, and Aaron Rai, all vying for their first or one of their first few PGA Tour victories. Young is particularly looking to build on his recent success after a historic 59 at TPC River Highlands last week that propelled him into the top 10. With a runner-up finish at this course before, he is still chasing his first career win.
Bhatia and Davis are also looking strong, with Davis having won the Rocket Mortgage Classic in a playoff in 2021. Rai is also in the mix, seeking his first PGA Tour victory after a T19 finish at the U.S. Open earlier this month.
