Kyle Allen and Dean Lowry signed by Steelers

Steelers Bolster Quarterback Depth Chart with Signing of Kyle Allen and Defensive End Dean Lowry

The Pittsburgh Steelers have recently made several moves to strengthen their quarterback depth chart. After acquiring Russell Wilson as their backup quarterback and trading for Justin Fields, the team has now signed Kyle Allen as their third-string quarterback.

Kyle Allen is a 28-year-old undrafted rookie who has been in the NFL since 2018, playing with the Carolina Panthers, Washington, Houston, and Buffalo. Most notably, he started 12 games for the Panthers in 2019, showcasing enough potential to remain on NFL rosters as a backup quarterback. The addition of Allen gives the Steelers three quarterbacks on their roster, with the possibility of adding a fourth camp arm in the future.

In addition to signing Kyle Allen, the Steelers have also added defensive end Dean Lowry to their roster. Lowry previously played for the Minnesota Vikings and appeared in nine games with four starts last season. With these recent acquisitions, the Steelers are looking to bolster their roster and add depth to key positions as they prepare for the upcoming season.
