The departure of Pakistan from the T20 World Cup has caused disappointment among former players, critics and fans alike. Despite avoiding an embarrassing defeat against Ireland in their final match, the team’s performance has been heavily criticized.
Former players and critics have expressed their frustration through TV and talk shows while fans have taken to social media to express their anger. A video has emerged showing Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf being taunted by a fan for the team’s poor showing in the T20 World Cup. In the video, Rauf is seen walking with his wife when the incident occurs. Rauf appears visibly angry and jumps over a line of street shrub in response to the taunts, with his wife trying to calm him down.
Although the video is not entirely clear, Rauf can be heard insinuating that the fan must be Indian, to which the fan responds that he is Pakistani. Despite this confrontation, the fan stands his ground against Rauf’s fury and is ultimately stopped by other fans passing by. Meanwhile, it was reported that Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam and five other players have opted to spend their holidays in London before returning home.
