Sports Journalist: Braves Win Despite Foul Ball Strike to Manager’s Groin in Major League Baseball Game
The Atlanta Braves had a 3-1 win over the San Francisco Giants, with second baseman Ozzie Albies hitting a foul ball into the dugout. Unfortunately, it struck his manager Brian Snitker in the groin, but he seemed to be okay after the impact and even smiled about it. The team’s broadcasters joked about the moment during the game.
Afterwards, Snitker playfully responded to questions about his well-being, saying “next question” and telling Albies that he took his best shot. The Braves had a strong game, with pitcher Chris Sale delivering six solid innings and the bullpen earning one-run ball over three innings. Adam Duvall and Austin Riley provided the runs Atlanta needed with one RBI each, contributing to their 47-37 record.
The win put the Braves in a good position in the NL wild-card race and nine games back from first-place Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East. Despite the unusual foul ball incident, they remained focused on their goal of making a postseason run.
