Dodson transitions former Circuit arcade bar into combination sports bar and card shop

Sports Bar Meets Card Shop: The Unique Dual Concept of Parlay Bar & Lounge and Graybo’s Sports Cards in Scott’s Addition

Duke Dodson, a local developer, is bringing a fresh concept to Scott’s Addition with the transformation of a former bar-arcade space into a unique sports bar-card shop. He purchased the building and is preparing to open Parlay Bar & Lounge at 3117 W. Leigh St., which will be relocated from its current location on Grace Street.

Parlay Bar & Lounge will offer a one-of-a-kind sports bar experience, featuring a putting green, TVs, lounge seating, and private pod seating areas in its 3,300 square foot space. Local chef Robyn Carter and restaurateur Kelsey Biser will manage the bar, having previously collaborated with Dodson on other projects.

In addition to Parlay Bar & Lounge, Graybo’s Sports Cards retail shop will also be relocated to the same location. Owned by Dodson, Gray Burnette, and Ryan Fitz, Graybo’s specializes in selling unopened packs and boxes of sports cards as well as collectible individual cards. The larger 2,200 square foot space in Scott’s Addition will allow for growth and expansion of their business.

The new dual concept of a sports bar and card shop is an innovative idea for both the sports card world and the Richmond community. Both Parlay and Graybo’s are scheduled to open on May 18th, adding to the vibrant dining scene in Scott’s Addition. Other upcoming additions to the neighborhood include Ballast, a restaurant and market from the owners of Yellow Umbrella, and Cochiloco, a Mexican restaurant from the owners of Y Tu Mamá.
