Megan Murphy shined in the circle and at the plate, top the San Rafael Higher softball group to a four-1 victory against Marin Catholic on Monday.
Murphy had 3 hits and restricted the Wildcats to 4 hits although tossing a total game. Murphy struck out 12 hitters although permitting two walks.
Leadoff hitter Sophia Everett had 3 hits and scored twice for San Rafael (ten-three, eight-1 MCAL). Gabby Rodriguez drove in two runs for the Bulldogs. Angel Amesa had a hit, an RBI and drew a stroll.
Lindsay Harrison had a hit and drove in the lone run for MC (9-three, six-three).
- Paige Murphy tossed a one particular-hit gem, striking out 15 hitters to lead Archie Williams to a 7- victory against Tam on Monday. Murphy registered strikeouts against each hitter in Tam’s lineup and had a pair of hits of her personal, scoring twice. Kennedy Dunsing had a pair of hits, drove in 3 and scored twice for the Peregrine Falcons (three-14, three-six). Elisa Cobb had the lone hit for the Red-tailed Hawks (five-7, five-four).
- Maddie Sofnas had 3 hits, drove in 4 runs and scored twice as Redwood rolled to a 19-1 win against Terra Linda. The Giants (ten-four-1, 7-two) moved into sole possession of second location with the victory. Ashley Weingart (two hits, two RBIs, two runs), Kaela Sparler (two hits, 3 RBIs, one particular run), Hailey Carlton (3 hits, two RBIs, 3 runs), and Addison Dunn (two hits, 3 runs) all had large offensive games for the Giants.
College softball
Former Marin Catholic Higher standout Rose Malen has been nominated for Chapman University’s very best female 1st-year athlete award.
Malen, a beginning pitcher, has helped guide the Panthers to a 20-9 record on the season with a ten-two mark in conference play. Malen (five-four) has a group-very best 1.31 earned-run typical with 54 strikeouts against 11 walks in 69.1 innings of function.
Women’s lacrosse
The Dominican University system capped its inaugural season with a victory on Sunday to finish the campaign with a 13-1 record.
Immediately after an 11- normal season, Dominican head into the Western Women’s League League playoffs for a quarterfinal matchup against UC Santa Barbara on Saturday morning.
The Penguins won that game 14-three ahead of falling to UCLA 11-six in the semifinals later that day. Dominican defeated Arizona State 9-five in Sunday’s third-location game.
Brooke Vafi (4 objectives) and Siena Fairbanks (3 objectives) led the way against the Sun Devils.
Men’s golf
Elliott Nielsen shot a 72 and Sam Nielsen added a 73 to assistance Dominican sit third immediately after the 1st round of play at the PacWest Conference Championships at Wigwam Golf Course in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
The Penguins shot a 9-more than-par 297 and sit behind second location Holy Names (295) and leader Hawaii-Hilo (285).
Women’s golf
Claire Shubin and Angelica Antonio carded matching 76s, finishing in a tie for fifth and assisting Dominican sit tied for second immediately after the 1st round of the PacWest Championships at Wigwam Golf Course.
The Penguins shot a 27-more than 315 to tie Holy Names. Point Loma leads with a group score of 309.
