Rory McIlroy Seeks Expert Advice from Tiger Woods’ Former Coach Butch Harmon to Win The Masters

Rory McIlroy has recently sought the expertise of Butch Harmon, Tiger Woods’ former coach, to help address issues in his golf game ahead of his upcoming bid to win The Masters. With only one top-20 finish on the PGA Tour this season, the 34-year-old turned to Harmon for assistance.

The Northern Irish golfer typically works with coach Michael Bannon but decided to seek Harmon’s guidance for a fresh perspective. He has also collaborated with English coach Pete Cowen in the past. During a recent podcast interview, McIlroy shared that he visited Harmon for a golf lesson in Las Vegas. He recalled a heartwarming moment with his daughter, Poppy, who questioned why he needed a golf lesson when he already knew how to play. Despite her innocence, McIlroy found her words to be the best advice he had received in years.

Harmon is known for mentoring champions like Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson and has a wealth of experience in improving players’ performances. McIlroy, who has finished second at Augusta and made several other top-ten appearances, has yet to secure a Masters victory. With Harmon’s guidance and his own determination, McIlroy remains hopeful for success at the prestigious tournament.

Harmon is renowned for coaching top players to success and McIlroy believes that working with him will bring new insights into his game.

Despite being young she offered some of the best advice that he had received in years which resonated deeply with him.

Harmon’s experience as Woods’ coach and work with other champions such as Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson make him well equipped to guide McIlroy towards success at The Masters next week.

McIlroy aims to join legends such as Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer by winning all four men’s majors but first needs some expert advice from someone like Butch Harmon before taking on this challenging task.
