Rising Star Josh Berry Secures New Ride with Wood Brothers Racing: A Look into the Exciting Future of NASCAR’s Cup Series

Josh Berry, a Cup rookie this season, has announced that he will be driving for Wood Brothers Racing next season. He will replace Harrison Burton in the No. 21 car and is the second Stewart-Haas Racing driver to secure a new ride for 2025 following the announcement that Stewart-Haas Racing will cease operations after this season.

Jon Wood, president of Wood Brothers Racing, stated that Berry was the top prospect for the team and expressed confidence in his ability to deliver results on the track. Berry expressed his excitement about the opportunity and shared his determination to succeed with the team. While the crew chief for Berry has not yet been determined, it is expected that the team will work with personnel from Team Penske, with whom Wood Brothers Racing is aligned.

Full sponsorship details for the No. 21 car have not yet been announced, but Wood Brothers Racing is seeking their 100th career Cup win. They have not had a victory since 2017 when they won with Ryan Blaney. Their former SHR teammates, Noah Gragson and Ryan Preece, have not yet announced their plans for next season.

Berry has had four top-10 finishes in the last seven races and believes he is ready for this new challenge with Wood Brothers Racing. He emphasized his hard work and determination to succeed in NASCAR’s highest level of competition.

The move to Wood Brothers Racing presents an exciting opportunity for Berry to showcase his talent and continue his success in NASCAR’s elite series. It also marks a significant milestone in his career as he looks forward to achieving many more victories and milestones on track.

Wood Brothers Racing is one of NASCAR’s oldest teams, having competed in its first race back in 1953. This year they celebrate their 70th anniversary of racing at Daytona International Speedway before shutting down after this season as part of a restructuring plan by Stewart-Haas Racing owner Tony Stewart.

As Berry embarks on this new chapter of his career with Wood Brothers Racing, he can take comfort knowing that he has already proven himself as a talented driver capable of achieving great things on track. With hard work and dedication, he can continue to make strides towards becoming one of NASCAR’s top drivers while also contributing to Wood Brothers Racing’s storied history on track.
