Helsinki Stock Exchange Opens with SSAB Down

Rise in Helsinki Stock Exchange after Easter Holiday: Nordea Bank and Sotkamo Silver Lead the Way with Remarkable Growth

The Helsinki Stock Exchange resumed trading after the Easter holiday, and after a brief period of activity, the general index of the exchange increased by 0.4 percent to 9785.26 points. The most actively traded stock was Nordea Bank, whose share price rose by 0.4 percent to EUR 10.51. Among the top twelve stocks traded, eight of them saw an increase in their share prices.

At the forefront of the rise was Sotkamo Silver, whose share price increased by a remarkable 5.4 percent to EUR 0.09. Other companies that experienced growth included Tecnotree with a rise of 2.3 percent and Atria with a gain of 2.1 percent. In contrast, SSAB’s B share fell by 5.1 percent to EUR 6.52 euros due to its plans to build a fossil-free steel production plant in Lulea, Sweden, with an estimated investment of around EUR 4.5 billion euros instead of Raahe, Finland as previously announced, marking the third step for Raahe
