Liberty Hill ISD to Implement New Science and Technology Resources for 2024-25 Academic Year

Revolutionizing Science and Technology Education: Liberty Hill ISD’s New Instructional Materials for the 2024-25 School Year

Liberty Hill ISD is set to introduce new instructional materials in various science and technology classes throughout the district for the upcoming school year. This decision was made by the board of trustees during a meeting on March 18, following a thorough review process that involved input from teachers and the community.

The district has chosen new instructional materials for a range of courses, including science classes from kindergarten to eighth grade, as well as specific courses like Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Systems, Aquatic Science, Physics, and Integrated Physics and Chemistry. Additionally, technology applications for kindergarten through fifth grade will also receive new materials. The total cost of these materials is $352,152, which will be covered by the district’s Instructional Materials and Technology Allotment.

The process of selecting these new materials began in the fall when the Science Instructional Materials Selection Committee started assessing the materials approved by the State Board of Education for the 2024-25 school year. In November, the SBOE approved new materials for a variety of subjects, including science, technology applications, financial literacy, economics, and career and technical education courses.

Community members had the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed materials for kindergarten through 12th-grade science through two events held in late January
