Ex-CEO of Vail Resorts, Rob Katz, to be honored with induction into the Colorado Business Hall of Fame

Revolutionizing Industries: Denver Business Leaders Inducted into the 2024 Colorado Business Hall of Fame

The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain have announced the induction of several notable individuals into the 2024 Colorado Business Hall of Fame. Among them is former Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz, who has made a significant impact on the ski industry and beyond.

Katz revolutionized the industry with his creation of the Epic Pass, which allowed customers to ski at 41 different resorts for one price. Under his leadership, Vail Resorts grew from five to 41 resorts, with increased employment at each resort and the Broomfield headquarters. Despite stepping down as CEO in 2021, Katz remains involved in strategic operations and is also known for his philanthropy.

Other honorees include Rose Andom, owner of several McDonald’s franchises and philanthropist; Pat Hamill founder of Oakwood Homes; John A. Ikard, former CEO of FirstBank; Steve Schuck founder of Schuck Communities (now Schuck Chapman Cos); and Elizabeth Hickok Robbins Stone (1801-1895), one of the founders of Fort Collins.

The induction ceremony will take place on February 15 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center and will be hosted by Denver7’s Brian Sanders. For more information about this esteemed group of business leaders, visit ColoradoBusinessHallofFame.org.
