Revolutionizing Access to Education in Ukraine: Ministry of Education and Science Partners with Palantir to Implement New Technology

The Ministry of Education and Science in Ukraine has partnered with Palantir to implement new technology that will support their initiative to provide safe access to schools for an additional 300,000 pupils. The partnership, which lasts for 12 months initially, is set to bring about qualitative changes in the education sector and ensure that as many children as possible can safely attend school in person. Through a signed agreement, the Ministry and Palantir aim to address the educational challenges faced by Ukrainian students and improve access to education in the country.

Palantir has developed new software tooling that will help target funding for school bomb shelters, maximizing the benefits for children and young people. This comes in response to the significant rise in online education due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Research shows that over 40% of children in Ukraine are currently relying on online or hybrid learning, resulting in educational setbacks. According to the PISA-2022 survey, Ukrainian students are falling behind their expected level by 1.5 to 2.5 years of study.

The collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Science and Palantir aims to address these challenges faced by Ukrainian students and ensure that more children have the opportunity to attend school safely. The new technology will play a crucial role in supporting the Government’s efforts to improve access to education in the country.

The School Offline initiative launched by the Government seeks to increase access to safe schooling for Ukrainian children. This initiative is a response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which led to a significant rise in online education. While this shift provided some benefits, it also resulted in educational setbacks for many Ukrainian students.

According to research conducted by PISA-2022, Ukrainian students are falling behind their expected level by 1.5 to 2.5 years of study due to their reliance on online or hybrid learning during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
