General Dynamics Bath Iron Works and Central Maine Community College (CMCC) have joined forces to launch a new Manufacturing Technology short-term training program. This initiative is aimed at equipping students with vital skills and practical experience to set them on a path towards successful careers in the manufacturing industry.
The program will run for three weeks, with participants attending 40 hours per week, totaling 120 hours of training. Students will receive a $500 attendance incentive each week, and the entire program will be free of cost. No prior experience is necessary to enroll.
The curriculum for this program will be comprehensive, covering topics such as technical math, hand & power tool operation & safety, oxy cutting, track welding, basic layout, material handling, drilling & fastening, and other essential manufacturing skills. Upon completion of the program, students will have the chance to interview with General Dynamics Bath Iron Works for potential job opportunities.
