Real Estate Leaders Making a Difference: Bo Menkiti and Jessica Thompson’s Commitment to Community Investment and Affordable Housing

Real estate professionals are often passionate about making a difference in their communities. Many of them use their expertise to create opportunities for underserved consumers, as well as to support charitable causes and volunteer their time. In this episode of the podcast, we speak with two real estate professionals who have made it their mission to bring goodness to their communities through their businesses.

Bo Menkiti is the broker-owner of Keller Williams Capital Properties in Washington, D.C., and the founder and CEO of The Menkiti Group, a real estate services company that has invested over $390 million in emerging urban neighborhoods. Menkiti’s company’s mission is to “transform lives, careers, and communities through real estate,” and he is deeply committed to creating homeownership opportunities for underserved consumers. In fact, The Menkiti Group plans to scale its neighborhood investments in the future.

Jessica Thompson, GREEN, is the broker-owner of Cityburb Homes in Oklahoma City. She has focused on bringing new homeowners to a low-income neighborhood where she bought her first property for $75,000 in 2013. In January, Thompson sold a property in the area for $50,000 above the asking price. She is deeply involved in national and local housing committees with the goal of securing more quality, affordable housing for Oklahoma City residents.

Host Marki Lemons Ryhal is a managing broker, bestselling author, and national speaker with over 30 years of marketing experience. Her aim is to change the industry conversation through her podcast to benefit listeners and their clients. Lemons Ryhal engages in discussions with real estate professionals across the country about methods they use to address market challenges, improve sales or save time and money. Additionally, listeners get to hear anecdotes about extraordinary experiences these professionals have had in the real estate field.

In conclusion, real estate professionals are not just focused on buying and selling homes but also on creating positive changes within their communities through volunteering and supporting charitable causes.
