Rashee Rice involved in car accident; Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver agrees to assist Dallas authorities as NFL keeps watch on situation

Rashee Rice: Texas Native Involved in Six-Vehicle Car Crash on Saturday Night near Dallas

In Dallas on a Saturday, a six-vehicle car crash occurred. The police immediately launched an investigation after the accident, which led to the discovery that a vehicle believed to be registered or leased by Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was involved in the collision at 6:20 p.m. local time.

The incident was reported by the Dallas Morning News, and Josina Anderson, a senior NFL insider with CBS Sports HQ, confirmed that Rice had hired legal counsel. On Monday, Rice’s attorney released a statement expressing concern for those affected by the accident and emphasizing his client’s cooperation with local authorities.

The NFL is closely monitoring the situation, according to league spokesperson Brian McCarthy. According to Dallas police spokeswoman Kristin Lowman, the initial investigation revealed that drivers of a Chevrolet Corvette and a Lamborghini were speeding in the far left lane when they lost control. The Lamborghini hit the center median wall, leading to a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles.

Rice is listed as the suspected driver of the Corvette in the police call sheet, and they are currently searching for him in connection with the accident. It remains unclear whether Rice was present at the accident scene or whether he will face charges as of Sunday morning. Two drivers received minor medical attention at the scene, while two others were taken to hospitals for minor injuries. The individuals driving both vehicles fled from the crash site without providing any information or checking on those involved.

Rice grew up in Texas and attended college at SMU before being drafted by Kansas City Chiefs in round two of the 2023 NFL Draft. He played an essential role in their Super Bowl victory last season as he led them in receiving touchdowns and ranked second behind tight end Travis Kelce in catches and receiving yards during his time playing for them.[end]
