Raising Awareness on All Request Mental Health Day: Resources and Action towards a More Inclusive Society
On Wednesday, July 3rd, WFPK will be hosting an All Request Mental Health Day. This day is designed to raise awareness about mental health and provide resources for individuals and their loved ones. The National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available by calling or texting 9-8-8. Additionally, the Louisville Suicide Prevention Lifeline can be reached by texting LOU to 741741. The Kentucky chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Seven Counties Services Adult Crisis Line at 502-589-5313, Seven Counties Services Child Crisis Line at 502-589-8070, Mental Health Lou, and the Veterans Crisis and Military Crisis Line at 1-800-273-8255 Press 1 are also resources available for those in need.
It’s important to remember that mental health is a crucial aspect of overall wellbeing. One way to support mental health is by feeling heard and understood. Those with privilege should do their research and find ways to support Black people and people of color in combatting racism. By making permanent changes in the community, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all individuals struggling with mental health issues.
