Bango Honors Champions of Racine Elementary School’s Fresh Air Science Fair

Racine Students Win Big in First-Ever Fresh Air Science Fair

Congratulations to the fifth-grade students at Julian Thomas Elementary School in Racine, who were recently recognized for their participation in an almost two-month-long Fresh Air Science Fair. The fair began on February 1st and the students formed teams to work on projects related to clean air pollution concepts. Entries were judged based on the quality of research, data analysis, and the creativity of their presentation.

The award assembly took place on Wednesday, March 27th, where winners were announced and prizes were awarded. Milwaukee Bucks mascot Bango and the trampoline dunking team, the Rim Rockers, made a special appearance at the event. The first-place team members each received three tickets to the April 10 Bucks game against the Orlando Magic, transportation to and from the game, and concession stand vouchers to use at Fiserv Forum during the game. Second and third-place teams were awarded Bucks merchandise.

The Fresh Air Science Fair is a collaborative effort between Modine, Milwaukee Bucks, Racine Unified School District, and United Way of Racine County. The project was designed to educate students about air pollution and encourage them to think creatively about ways to improve air quality in their community. The fair was a huge success and we congratulate all the participants for their hard work and dedication to this important cause.
