Police in Zagreb Arrest Pedophile Fugitive from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Explaining Reasons for Not Apprehending Him
A convicted pedophile, Ivica Mišković, who escaped from the Basic Court in Banja Luka, was discovered in the Zagreb area on November 15 and 16. However, there were no grounds for his further detention or arrest because Mišković is also a Croatian citizen.
Under the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia, a Croatian citizen cannot be extradited to another country unless an international treaty or the acquis of the European Union requires it. As this condition was not met for Ivica Mišković, Interpol Zagreb sent Interpol Sarajevo a notification about the protocol that needed to be followed through the competent judicial authorities.
