Abbas Meets in Doha to Discuss Formation of Technocratic Government with Hamas in PA

Palestinian Authority Head Seeks Peace Talks with Hamas Amid Efforts to Rebuild Gaza Strip under International Control

On the evening of February 11, Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), the head of the Palestinian Authority, arrived in Doha with the hope of meeting with members of the Hamas Politburo. According to Keshet-12 TV channel news service, Abbas is interested in having Qatari government, which is currently serving as a mediator between Hamas and Israel, organize a meeting for him with Hamas’ political leadership.

According to N12 sources, Abbas has proposed to Hamas that they create a government of technocrats within the Palestinian Authority. The body created by this proposal would be responsible for restoring the Gaza Strip and would be under international control. This would allow funds to be transferred to it for reconstruction purposes.

Aside from these news bulletins regarding Palestine’s ongoing conflict, there is also a list of website addresses that do not relate to Abbas’ travel to Doha or any other information about the conflict. Some of these websites are higher education institutions while others are digital media platforms and original novels. However, it is unclear how these unrelated websites fit into the context of this article.
