The 2024 World Aquatic Championships have come to an end after six days of intense competition in Doha, Qatar. The event featured long course meters (LCM) races in a 50m pool. The championships included prelims and finals, with live results available through Omega.
On the second day of the championships, photos from the event are now available online to relive the excitement. The event featured races from some of the world’s top swimmers, including Louise Hansson, Lukas Martens, Elijah Winnington, Kate Douglass, Nic Fink, Diogo Ribeiro, Cameron McEvoy, Michael Andrew, Nicolo Martinenghi, Claire Curzan, Angelina Kohler and Adam Peaty.
One of the standout performances came from Diogo Ribeiro who shared his thoughts on his change in mindset and focus on training following an incident. He spoke about how he had been feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to perform and how he had been struggling to find motivation to train consistently. However, after a period of reflection and self-discovery, he had decided to adopt a more positive mindset and focus on his training as a means of achieving success in his sport.
