OpenAI Staff Contemplate Mass Resignation over Management’s Handling
Hundreds of OpenAI employees have threatened to resign unless the current board of directors steps down. The letter, signed by over 500 employees, states that they cannot work for or with individuals who lack competence and concern for their mission and employees. The staff demands a new board of directors and the return of CEO Sam Altman and co-founder Greg Brockman. They also expressed interest in working at Microsoft, where Altman will now be joining as head of advanced AI research. The letter was sent following Altman’s unexpected dismissal from his position at OpenAI due to a lack of confidence from the board.
