The Olkiluoto nuclear power plant is experiencing delays in its repair work, according to a message from TVO’s Power of Industry. The original estimate for the completion of inspection, testing, and repair work was shorter than what is now expected. As a result, power production from the triple reactor has been pushed back from Tuesday at noon to 6 p.m., with full production estimated to begin between Tuesday and Wednesday night.
On Sunday evening, an interruption occurred in the plant’s electricity production due to a fault in the turbine plant. TVO reported that the cause of the failure was a faulty temperature measurement of the generator’s cooling system, but assured that it did not affect nuclear safety.
