Encompass Health reveals initial proposal for construction of a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in San Antonio

New Rehabilitation Hospital to Open in San Antonio, Providing Specialized Care for Stroke Victims and Others

In San Antonio, Encompass Health Corp. has announced plans to build a 50-bed rehabilitation hospital. Located in Westover Hills, the facility will cater to patients recovering from various illnesses and injuries such as strokes, neurological disorders, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and amputations. It will offer 24-hour nursing care, along with physical, occupational, and speech therapies to help patients regain functional ability and quality of life.

The new hospital will have specialized nurses, therapists, and physicians providing care. The facility will include private patient rooms, a therapy gym with advanced technologies, activities of daily living suite, dining room, pharmacy, and therapy courtyard. Encompass Health’s president of the Southwest region, Frank Brown, expressed excitement about bringing rehabilitation services to the Westover Hills community. The hospital aims to provide high-quality, compassionate, and personalized care to help patients return to the community with increased independence.
