Seventy Percent of Voters Believe Biden Lacks Cognitive Health to Serve

New Poll Reveals Majority of Voters Have Concerns about President Biden’s Mental and Cognitive Health

A recent presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump has sparked concerns about the mental and cognitive health of both candidates. Following the debate, a new poll conducted by CBS/You Gov revealed that a significant portion of registered voters have doubts about President Biden’s ability to serve a second term, with 72% expressing concerns. This sentiment was shared by nearly half of voters within Biden’s own party. Additionally, 49% of voters questioned whether Donald Trump has the mental or cognitive ability to serve as president again.

The debate brought these concerns to light, with Biden’s raspy voice, stumbling responses, and overall performance raising doubts about his capability to lead. The latest poll results have led to speculation about whether Biden should consider withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race and allowing another Democratic candidate to step in. Despite calls for him to step aside, Biden has expressed his intention to continue running for office, with support from some Democratic leaders such as Nancy Pelosi and John Fetterman.

However, the survey released by CBS/YouGov indicates that Democratic voters are increasingly questioning whether Biden is the right candidate for 2024. Concerns about his age, decision-making abilities, and campaign effectiveness were cited as reasons why some believe he should step aside. The poll, based on a sample of 1,130 registered voters, has a margin of error of +/- 4.2 percentage points, suggesting a significant shift in public opinion regarding both Biden and Trump’s suitability for the presidency.

The latest poll results have raised questions about whether Biden should consider withdrawing from the presidential race in 2024. While some Democrats are calling on him to step aside due to concerns about his mental and cognitive health, others are urging him to continue running for office. The poll results suggest that there may be a significant shift in public opinion regarding both Biden and Trump’s suitability for the presidency.
