Netanyahu Encouraged by Smotrich to Renew Bank of Israel Chief’s Term
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has expressed dissatisfaction with Professor Amir Yaron’s position on judicial reform’s impact on the economy, and has called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to announce the head of the Bank of Israel’s resignation for a full second term. However, uncertainty surrounds the future of Yaron as his term is ending soon and he has not been offered a second term. Meanwhile, the government has agreed to extend the terms of many other government agency heads.
