NASCAR Doubleheader Weekend at Richmond Raceway: Exciting Xfinity and Cup Races with Trackhouse Racing and Whelen Modified Tour Teams

This weekend, two of the national NASCAR series will be held at Richmond Raceway. The Xfinity teams will have a packed day of practice, qualifying, and racing on the .75-mile Virginia track on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Cup teams will practice and qualify on Saturday in preparation for Sunday’s primetime race. In addition to the Xfinity and Cup races, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour teams will also be in action on Friday at Richmond.

Last season saw Chandler Smith win the Xfinity race at Richmond and Kyle Larson win the spring Cup race at Richmond. As for this season, Trackhouse Racing drivers Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain are looking to score their team’s second win of the year at Richmond.

On Friday, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour practice will begin at 12 p.m., with Xfinity Series teams following from 4-9 p.m., while Cup Series teams will begin their practice from 10:30 a.m.-11:15 a.m., followed by qualifying from 12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m., leading up to an exciting Xfinity race starting at 3:00 p.m..

Saturday’s schedule includes NASCAR Cup practice running from 9:35 a.m.-10:35 a.m., followed by qualifying from 11:35 a.m.-2:35 p.m., with an exciting Xfinity race kicking off at 4:00 p.m.. Finally, Sunday’s much-anticipated Cup race is set to start at 7 p.m., featuring four hundred laps or three hundred miles of thrilling action!

The weather forecast for this weekend is expected to be mostly sunny on Friday with a high temperature of 67 degrees and only a small chance of rain (4%). On Saturday, skies are predicted to be cloudy with a high temperature of 71 degrees and again only a small chance of rain (4%) when the Xfinity race begins, but there is more chance that it could rain during Sunday’s Cup race (33%). As we all know, Ty Gibbs has been NASCAR’s most consistent driver this season!
