Narrow Lead for Vikings at Halftime against Broncos in Sunday Night Football: 10-9
The Vikings started the game on Sunday night with a turnover when Josh Dobbs fumbled on their opening drive. But the team quickly regained their footing and took a 10-9 lead over Denver into halftime. Dobbs threw a 3-yard touchdown to tight end Josh Oliver, while Greg Joseph hit a 34-yard field goal for Minnesota’s 10 points.
Despite some early struggles, the Vikings have been making a concerted effort to run the ball throughout the game. Alexander Mattison has taken 10 carries for 50 yards, while Ty Chandler has 30 yards on six carries. Dobbs is currently 11-of-13 for 126 yards with a touchdown, and he’s also had a couple of snap problems with center Garrett Bradbury that resulted in fumbles. However, he was able to recover both to prevent turnovers.
On the other hand, Denver hasn’t been able to get much going throughout the half, with no third down conversions and just 5 first downs. They also have only 16 rushing yards so far. Russell Wilson is currently leading the way for Denver with 13-of-17 for 132 yards, while Courtland Sutton has two catches for 38 yards.
As they head into the second half of the game, Denver will receive the kickoff from Minnesota.
