The Montana Science Olympiad State Tournament is an annual event that brings together nearly 900 middle and high school students from across the state. This year, the tournament will take place at Montana State University, where students from 80 teams will showcase their skills in science, technology, engineering, and math.
The tournament is considered one of the largest STEM competitions in Montana and attracts talented young scientists from cities like Choteau, Conrad, Corvallis, Darby, Ennis, Fromberg, Gallatin Gateway, Hardin, Harrison, Libby, Livingston, Manhattan, Noxon, Roundup, Shepherd, Sidney and Thompson Falls.
During the tournament, students will participate in various events and challenges that test their knowledge and abilities in different scientific disciplines. These challenges range from physics to biology to computer science and more. The winners of the state tournament will have the opportunity to compete at the national level. This year’s national tournament will take place at Michigan State University this spring.
The competition offers a great opportunity for students to showcase their talents and represent their schools and communities on a larger stage. It also provides an excellent platform for young scientists to connect with like-minded individuals from across the country and learn about new scientific developments.
