Momotaro Dentetsu World: The Earth Spins with Hope Takes Top Spot on Japanese Monthly Charts, New Entry Shiren the Wanderer Performs Well

Konami’s Momotaro Dentetsu World: The Earth Spins with Hope is back on top of the Japanese monthly charts, with 153,137 copies sold in January. Super Mario Bros Wonder followed closely behind, selling 151,569 units. New entry Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island also performed well, pushing 85,424 copies.

In terms of hardware sales, the Switch was the highest across all three versions at 241,282 units, with the OLED version being the most popular. PS5 came in second with 185,480 units sold and Xbox had relatively low sales at just 7,654 units. In terms of physical game units sold during the period, Nintendo held a commanding 34.1% share of the market, followed by Sega at 12.3% and Konami at 10.2%.

The top ten best-selling physical games from January 1 to January 28 were as follows:
