Metso Supplies Innovative Solutions for American Copper Electrorefinery

On Monday, November 20th, 2023, Jane Bentham, the Editorial Assistant for Global Mining Review, published an article about Freeport-McMoRan’s recent order for a tankhouse material handling solution from Metso. The value of the order exceeded €10 million and has been booked in the Minerals segment’s 4Q23 orders received.

Metso’s scope of delivery includes Outotec Anode Preparation and Cathode Stripping Machines, both based on proven designs that prioritize safety and long-term reliability. These machines utilize modern robotic electrode handling to optimize layout and material handling efficiency in the existing refinery.
