Buses prohibited from entering Sheba hospital complex by Ramat Gan municipality.

Medical Crisis: Ramat Gan Halts Shuttle Buses from Sheba Medical Complex due to Noise Complaints from Residents

The Ramat Gan municipality recently blocked shuttle buses from entering the Sheba Medical Complex due to noise complaints from local residents. This resulted in three bus lines being forced to change their routes, causing inconvenience for patients without their own transportation.

According to the economic publication Kalkalist, three bus routes stopped carrying passengers after the municipality of Ramat Gan changed the operation of the bus station near the Bakum military base following complaints from residents of the Kiryat Krinitsa area. Buses are no longer allowed to enter the territory of the medical complex, causing inconvenience for patients who rely on public transportation.

Residents of Kiryat Krinitsa had protested against the Katzir bus terminal, claiming it was created without proper planning and operates with numerous violations. The municipality responded by installing barriers to prevent buses from passing through the terminal without notifying the Ministry of Transport or Dan, a bus service company.

As a result, patients and employees are forced to disembark outside the hospital and either walk or use wheelchairs to reach medical center. The Ministry of Transport is considering allocating a new space for buses in southern Tel Hashomer while waiting for permits from Ramat Gan municipality to construct temporary structures.

Both parties are blaming each other for this situation, with Ramat Gan municipality claiming that they planned for bus route cancellations before conflict arose. Meanwhile, hospital patients continue to face difficulties accessing necessary care due to these changes.

This incident highlights how important it is for municipalities and public transportation providers to work together in order to ensure that residents have access to reliable transportation options that meet their needs while also respecting their rights and concerns.
