Meadow Montessori School Celebrates Its 36th Annual Science Fair with 17 Ribbon Winners

Meadow Montessori School recently held its 2024 Science Fair, with seventeen students earning ribbons for their projects. The school takes pride in continuing this tradition, as it is the only one in the county to host a school-wide science fair. This event has been held annually since 1986 and involves students from kindergarten through eighth grade.

Each student presented their project to the class before displaying it for the entire school. The judges for this year’s science fair were Sarah Howard, Cale Piedmonte-Lang, Stephanie Slat, and Frank Tryrbon. They reviewed each project and awarded prizes to the top three in five different age groupings.

Meg Fedorowicz, the Science Fair coordinator, emphasized the importance of the event as a celebration of learning. She highlighted the scientific method as a valuable tool for critical thinking, which is a key aspect of the education provided at Meadow Montessori. Students from various grade levels received ribbons for their impressive projects, showcasing their dedication and hard work. From kindergarteners studying the life cycle of a fish to seventh and eighth graders comparing foundation and skin tone, the diversity of topics and effort put into each project was evident in the results. Overall, the success of the Science Fair highlights the commitment of both students and teachers at Meadow Montessori School to providing quality education that fosters curiosity and critical thinking skills.
