Lions exercise matching rights on 49ers’ offer sheet for Brock Wright

Lions Sign Blockbuster Deal to Retain Tight End Brock Wright: 3-Year, $12 Million Contract Announced

The Lions announced that they have decided to match the restricted free agent offer sheet signed by tight end Brock Wright with the 49ers. This means that Wright will not have to adjust to a new offensive scheme ahead of the 2024 season, and will continue to be a part of the team’s tight end duo alongside Sam LaPorta. The deal is reportedly a three-year contract worth $12 million, with $6 million guaranteed, which is a significant increase from the Lions’ original restricted free agent tender of $2.985 million.
