Sabonis Achieves NBA Milestone with Double-Double in Kings-76ers Game

Kings Center Domantas Sabonis Makes History with 54 Consecutive Double-Double Streak, Surpassing NBA Record

On Monday, Kings center Domantas Sabonis made NBA history with a double-double in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers at Golden 1 Center. Despite not being an All-Star, Sabonis has been on a streak of recording double-doubles for 54 consecutive games and counting, surpassing the previous record of 53 games set by Kevin Love in 2010-11.

Sabonis is leading the league in triple-doubles, double-doubles, and rebounds this season, averaging an impressive 13.7 rebounds per game. His recent performance in Sacramento’s win over the Orlando Magic tied Love’s record, and only four players in NBA history have longer streaks than Sabonis. These include legends like Wilt Chamberlain, Elvin Hayes, Elgin Baylor, and Walt Bellamy.

Despite not making it to the All-Star Game this year, Sabonis continues to shine with his consistent double-double performances. He has played in all 71 of Sacramento’s games this season and has a chance to extend his streak to 65 games if he keeps up his impressive play on the court. This would place him ninth on the all-time list for longest streaks behind Chamberlain, Bellamy, and Baylor.

Sabonis is well on track to become one of the most dominant players in NBA history this season. His exceptional skills and impact on the court make him a force to be reckoned with as he continues to lead Sacramento towards success in their quest for a championship title.
