Justin Jefferson puts his well-being above fantasy football

On November 21, 2023, ESPN reported that fantasy football managers may not see Justin Jefferson back in action until Week 14. The complications that Monday night’s game presented for those managing Jefferson on their fantasy teams were explained by Stephania Bell. Despite receiving pleas from fans to return, Jefferson emphasized on social media that his health is more important than their fantasy football success.

Justin Jefferson has been on injured reserve since Week 5 due to a right hamstring injury. Both he and Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell have emphasized that he will not return until he is fully healthy. While the team will continue to ramp up Jefferson’s recovery this week, there is a possibility that he may remain sidelined for the Monday night game against the Chicago Bears to take advantage of the bye week that follows.

The Vikings opened Jefferson’s 21-day practice window on November 8, meaning that he could potentially have a total of eight weeks off if he does not return until their December 10 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. O’Connell stressed the importance of prioritizing Jefferson’s long-term career over the team’s immediate needs, acknowledging the significance of Jefferson to the organization. ESPN’s Kevin Seifert also contributed to this report.
