‘Schedule of Citizen Science Trainings for Seasonal Signs’

Join the Signs of the Seasons Citizen Science Initiative: Workshops and Webinars for Ecological Discovery in Maine.

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension and Maine Sea Grant are hosting a series of workshops next week for those interested in joining the Signs of the Seasons citizen science project. This statewide initiative aims to track and record changes in over 20 indicator species, including milkweed, butterflies, and loons. By doing so, the project hopes to better understand how climate change is affecting Maine’s ecosystems.

The first training session will take place on April 4 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Stimpson’s Point in Brunswick. Another session will be held on April 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Gilsland Farm Audubon Center in Falmouth. For those unable to attend in person, a 3-part webinar series will also be available for viewing online at extension.umaine
